This account is kept separate from my (private, friends-locked) main account. Here is where I will put all my short fiction.

A few rules:
1) Everything here is copyright Eric B. Jordan. That's me.
1A) You are welcome to save a copy for your own *private* use. You are not to distribute, repost, rewrite, or otherwise take off and do whatever with my intellectual property. If you start arguing "Fair Use", get a lawyer: it does NOT mean what many people on the Internet think it means. It most definitely does not give you the right to copy my work entire and publish it where you please. Yes, I am just ornery enough to make your life hell if I catch you at it. If you want someone else to enjoy it, point them HERE. Thank you.

2) The name of this account means something: these are not rough drafts. They are not final drafts. They are the ONLY draft. Unless I, in my sole opinion and estimation, feel a story needs more work, what I post the first time is what you get. Anyone who has a problem with that has, as their sole remedy, the right to stop reading my blog, or at least to stop commenting in it.

3) In a similar vein to 2, above: the United States Government has promised you Freedom of Speech. I have not, and that amendment does not dictate the behavior of a private citizen within his own domain: it only sets limits on what the *government* can do. Look it up if you don't believe me. If somebody is wasting my time, annoying me, or just being a jerk, I have no problem banning them from here. That said, I do try to be a nice guy. I just happen to have limits just like any other rational person, and if you really want to know where those limits lie, I'll let you know. I don't promise you will enjoy the experience.

4) I don't do Fan-Fic. I don't want to get into the endless arguments over Fan-Fic. The fact that I don't do it is not a threat to your Fan-Fic hobby, nor is the fact that some other author welcomes it in the least bit relevant. If you are still unhappy that I don't do Fan-Fic, see above.
I *do* take inspiration for some stories from particular authors' styles and/or works. When I am conscious of it, I will give credit where it is due. But my characters, my settings, and my stories are my own.

5) Please don't tell me I should publish professionally. It's a very nice compliment, but the business is not an easy one to break into. I tried self-publishing once. A month's work grossed just enough to take my family out for fast food one time--but I had to tell them we couldn't Super-Size. This is my HOBBY--let's just enjoy it together. :)

6) I don't "friend" back from this account. Ever. I don't have any friends-only entries, and I don't read the friends-page from here. Don't take it personally.
